Annealed Hardness 304 Stainless Steel Plate
Alloy 304/304H Austenitic Stainless Steel Plate
Alloy 304/304H (UNS S30400/ S30409) is a modification of the most widely utilized "18-8" chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel. The carbon content is controlled in the range of 0.04-0.10% for increased strength at temperatures above 800°F (427°C).

300 Series Stainless Steel Alloys - 302, 304, 316
304 Stainless Steel: This non-magnetic alloy is the most versatile and the most widely used of all stainless steels. 304 Stainless Steel has lower carbon to minimize carbide precipitation and is used in high-temperature applications.
304 Stainless Steel | Alro Steel
As noted above 304 Stainless Steel is austenitic so it is not magnetic in the annealed condition and not hardenable by heat treatment. Alro stocks 304 stainless steel in many shapes including: tubing, angles, beams, bars, channels, coils, pipes, plates, tubing, and sheets.

Most of the 304 in that size that I have seen in recent years has been "plate bar", bar that has been sheared from plate or sheet material and then lightly rolled to size. Absolutely the worst crap to work with unless it has been annealed.
304 Stainless and 304L Stainless Steel Sheet & Bar - AMS
304 stainless steel contains a higher chromium and lower carbon content than other variations of type 302. It can be used in an "as welded" condition, while 302 must be annealed. AISI 304 is used in a variety of household and industrial applications.

Stainless Steel 304 / AMS 5513 / AMS 5511/ Alloy 304L
In many instances, it can be used in the ”as-welded“ condition, while Type 304 must be annealed in order to retain adequate corrosion resistance. Type 304L is an extra low-carbon variation of Type 304 with a 0.03% maximum carbon content that eliminates carbide precipitation due to welding.
